Some of you sharp eyed watchers out there might have noticed that in the pilot for Stargate SG-1, the off world team were wearing 3-color desert flight jackets that didn't look exactly like the more familiar WEP jackets from the series run. They have a different collar without the button flap and the interior lining is a bright orange color. Above is an image from the pilot, clearly showing this style of jacket. The style of flight jacket is the MA-1, in 3-color desert camo.You can get a very detailed history of the jacket by going to www.flightjacket.com, but they do not have it available in the tri-color camo.
After a lengthy search for this type of jacket to round out my collection, I got a heads up from Dave at Stargate6.com, who found this resource. He let me know that this type of jacket can be obtained for under $100 at Army*Navy Sales.I ordered mine this morning. Let the stargatery re-commence!
